Our Story
The inspiration behind Akua Home is drawn from our founder's Ghanaian heritage. This influence is beautifully reflected in our collection of African wall art pieces, each one inspired by the founder's rich and captivating background.
Akua, pronounced as Eh-kuah, is a typical girl’s name that originates from the Akan tribe in Ghana. Akua means ‘Born on Wednesday or Wednesday Born’. In the Akan tribe, it is a common practice to name a child after the day of the week they are born. Our founder was born on a Wednesday, which is the inspiration behind the brand, Akua Home.
